Traffic Stop In Martin County Ends In Arrest

(SHOALS) - A traffic stop in Shoals ended with two people going to jail on drug charges.

On Tuesday, Shoals Town Marshal Todd Eckert stopped a vehicle at 10:10 p.m. on U.S. 50 near Ironton Road.

He then requested the assistance of Corporal Damon Baker and his K-9 partner Virka.

Virka alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.

Officers received consent to search the vehicle and found marijuana, meth and smoking devices used to smoke meth.

Police arrested 42-year-old Lester Brummett of Loogootee on charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. His passenger 24-year-old Cameron Brown of Loogootee is facing charges of possession of meth and possession of marijuana.
