According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider, the attempted robbery was reported at 4:46 a.m.

According to police, a man entered the store and handed the clerk a note demanding money. The clerk refused to give the man the money. The man then fled the business. The clerk went outside and saw the man and two others run away.
