(EASTGATE) - STIMULUS Engineering, with multiple locations including offices at EastGate Technology & Business Center in Bedford, is pleased to announce the promotion of Doug West to the position of Sr. Director of Navy Programs.

West joined STIMULUS Engineering as Program Manager responsible for developing a more efficient and effective sustainment process for NSWC Crane's Maritime Electronic Warfare systems and programs. As Sr. Director of Navy Programs, West will be responsible for bolstering STIMULUS Engineering's position within the Crane community as well as fostering new relationships throughout the Department of the Navy that will allow STIMULUS to branch out into new areas.

West believes that "it is crucial to work closely with our current customers in order to best align talent and expertise, which in turn will allow STIMULUS to better meet the growing demands of future customer requirements for specialized capabilities."

West's 27 years of experience in the private sector started as a logistician supporting PERA (CV) back in the late 1980's. He was instrumental in the development of Configuration Based assessment processes still in use by Commander Naval Air Forces (CNAF) community today. After becoming a Project Manager supporting numerous customers, a former employer transferred him to the Norfolk VA area where he managed a small 10 person shop that he grew to over 50 personnel within 18 months. For the last 13 years, Doug has been a Vice President successfully managing the overall financial and product delivery for multiple divisions with work supporting the U.S. Navy in areas such as: Carrier Planning Activity (CPA); Commander Naval Air Forces (CNAF) C5RA, CEMAT, POET, UMAT and CAPS assessments; CNAF Total Ships Information Management System (TSIMS); CNAF AIT ILS Certifications; Maintenance Support Center (MSC) training and technical support; HM&E assessment support and for the past 4 years providing direct support to NSWC Cranes Maritime Electronic Warfare Division.

Prior to joining the private sector, West served as an Electronic Warfare Technician with the U.S. Navy. Discharged honorably as a Disabled Veteran in 1988.

He is very involved in professional organizations as well as community service. West was one of the founding members and Board of Directors of the Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Council (SDVOSB) where he served as Secretary for 4 years, and has been part of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). He also works closely with local schools leading fundraising efforts for school materials and is part of several leadership/advisory committees established to improve student opportunities and experiences at school.
