One Person Injured In Three-Vehicle Crash

Last updated on Tuesday, November 10, 2015

(BEDFORD) - A Mitchell woman was injured after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ind. 37 and 29th Street Monday afternoon.

According to a Bedford Police report, 76-year-old Carolyn Acton of Mitchell and 42-year-old Eric England of Ellettsville were stopped at the red traffic light at the intersection in the left lane of northbound Ind. 37, when all of a sudden England's 2011 Chevrolet was struck in the rear by a 2015 Ford F-150 driven by 48-year-old Brian Wimmer of Unionville.

The impact pushed England's car into the rear of Acton's 2002 Toyota Camry.

Wimmer told police he saw the vehicle stop for the light, but thought they were moving again so he did not stop in time to avoid the rear-end collision.

Acton complained of neck pain. England and Wimmer were not injured during the incident.
