(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman was injured after she crashed her vehicle in a field Saturday night.
According to a Lawrence County police report, officers were at a home in the 20 block of Meadowland Drive investigating a report of criminal mischief when they received a call that the woman they were looking for in that case had crashed her vehicle in a field at DNR Road, west of Hollace Chastain Road.
According to police 26-year-old Kara Bogard was traveling east on DNR Road when she drove her 2000 Pontiac Sunfire off the road at the sharp curve. The car struck a guide wire to a utility pole and then went into an embankment.
Bogard suffered back pain during the incident.
Police say Bogard had been drinking. While at the hospital, police requested a blood-draw and the result of that test is pending.
