(MITCHELL) - Mitchell residents can now sign up for text alerts from the city.
The text message will alert residents to boil orders, water outages, tornado warnings and other special announcements,
The service is being provided by American Marketing & Publishing and will cost the city $995 for a year with an additional $150 added that will allow the city to employ a "vanity code" to make the service easier for residents to remember.
