(DUGGER) - A Linton woman was arrested after two drunken disturbances at her brother’s home in Dugger.
Police arrested 38-year-old Linda Jo Begley on charges of two felony counts of battery against a police officer, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
This was the second time Begley had been arrested. According to the Sullivan Daily Times, a month ago, Begley pleaded guilty in a case involving a similar situation. She pleaded guilty to a Class B misdemeanor charge of battery on September 22 after she caused a disturbance at her brother's home in June.
On October 25 officers had been called to the Dollar General Store in Dugger, after Begley had locked herself in the bathroom for more than an hour and refused to come out.
Police say Begley was intoxicated and told them she had just came from an AA meeting.
Police and an ambulance crew had to free Begley from the bathroom. She refused medical treatment and refused cooperate with an Indiana State Trooper when he attempted to administer a portable breath test. She was not arrested during that incident.
Later in the day Begley, who was still drunk, was at her brother's home and went into a bathroom shower where she assaulted her sister-in-law and then assaulted her 14-year-old nephew.
When police arrived Begley refused to cooperate and fought with police.
As soon as officers placed her in the police car she began kicking at officers and attempted to get out of the car. When officers attempted to restrain her she attempted to bit the. She then managed to get her pants down and defecated and urinated inside the police car.
Police had to use hobble straps and ankle cuffs to restrain her legs.
An officer had to ride in the backseat of the police car because Begley then began smashing her head on the window and managed to unhook her seatbelt and again attempted to get out of the vehicle.
When the reached the Sullivan County Correctional Facility, Begley asked officer to pull her pants up and she agreed to cooperate with officers. As officer began to pull up her pants, Begley again began kicking at officers and again they had to use hobble straps to confine her.
Begley remains in jail on a $28,000 bond.
