(JASONVILLE) - A Jasonville man was arrested on charges of child exploitation and 17 counts of child pornography.
According to Jasonville Police, 24-year-old Tanner Wilson was arrested after police search Wilson's home on Lawton Street on Wednesday night.
Police have been investigating Wilson since late October.
Police were notified about the alleged crime after an Elkhart woman let her son use her phone and she later discovered he had inadvertently left his Facebook page open. The mother then looked through her son's messages and found a sexually-explicit message from Wilson to her son.
She immediately contacted Jasonville Police.
During the search police seized several electronic devices.
During an interview with the police, Wilson admitted to sending and receiving sexually-explicit photos and to having sexually-explicit conversations with the boy through several social media sites. Wilson told police the boy was 14 when he began the conversations.
