(COVEYVILLE) - A Heltonville man was injured after the vehicle he was riding in crashed in to a tree Saturday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 42-year-old Michael McLaughlin Jr. suffered a possible fracture to his lower left leg. He was taken by ambulance to a Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
According to police, 40-year-old Terra Hignite was traveling east on Coveyville Road around 9:50 p.m. when she lost control of her 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee going up a hill. The vehicle lost traction and as Hignite attempted to regain control of the vehicle it crashed into a tree causing the vehicle to spin.
Both occupants were wearing seat belts.
Hignite was not injured.
