(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Habitat for Humanity ReStore, at 502 L St., will have a final closing sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sale will include construction material, doors, windows, furniture, lights, sinks and other household items.

The Times-Mail reports the store was opened in the hopes of funding the Lawrence County Habitat for Humanity projects in the county, but that has not happened, according to board president Bob Wakefield. The last home build was in 2012.

Lawrence County Habitat for Humanity first established a chapter around 1995; it dissolved five years later. The newest chapter was established in 2005. Volunteers and partner families built a house in Mitchell and then a second in the 500 block of 14th Street. Each project was hampered by financing and weather delays.

The remaining assets which includes two building lots, two duplexes on Riley Boulevard and anything remaining after the sale will go to the Monroe County Habitat chapter.
