Greene County Commissioners Close Bridge On Iron Mountain Road

Last updated on Thursday, November 5, 2015

(BLOOMFIELD) - On Wednesday, the Greene County Commissioners voted to close Bridge 110, located on Iron Mountain Road south of Bloomfield, for emergency replacement.

The Greene County Daily World reported the council voted to take a $200,00 loan from the Rainy Day Fund to pay to replace the bridge. The commissioners authorized Abrams and the County Highway Superintendent Roger Hamilton to pursue bids for the project.

The commissioners approved changes in the indemnification agreement with Greene County General Hospital.

During their last meeting, the commissioners voted to authorize the Greene County Sheriff's Department to deputize officers working at the hospital.

The changes included the obligation of the officers to have radios and tape recorders on their person. However the hospital has some concerns with their security having recording devices.

Sheriff Mike Hasler says he will require the deputized officers to carry the recording devices.

After signing the agreement, the commissioners will take the agreement to the hospital board, which all three commissioners are members, and will talk about lining out procedures.
