Updated: Four Fire Departments Battling Blaze In Paoli

Last updated on Thursday, November 12, 2015

(PAOLI) - Firefighters from four area fire departments battled a trailer fire in Paoli.

Firefighters from Paoli, French Lick, Rural District II and Southeast Fire Departments battled the blaze in the 700 block of Helm Street.

Paoli Fire Department Chief Dutch Parks says firefighters arrived within 5 minutes of the original call around 11 a.m.

"It was fully involved when we arrived and the winds were gusting, fueling the flames," Parks added. "The grass caught on fire and it was spreading to a second structure but we were able to get it all under control within minutes."

The trailer is owned by Robert Burges.

"He was the only one that lived in the trailer and was at work when the fire started," Parks added.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
