(KENRAY LAKE) - Firefighters battled a fire that spread from a field to a deck and the underpinning of a trailer at Kenray Lake Friday afternoon.
According to Shawswick Volunteer Fire Chief Bob Brown, firefighters were called to the 296 Lakeview Drive at Covey Court just after 2 p.m. after a report that a controlled-burn had spread.
"The man who was burning brush went back inside his home leaving the fire unattended," Brown added. "That is when the fire spread."
The fire destroyed the man's deck and his shed. It then crossed the property to an adjacent home burning the underpinning of a mobile home.
Assisting at the scene were firefighters from Guthrie and Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Departments.
