BRI Hosting 'Christmas Around The Square' Activities

Last updated on Friday, November 13, 2015

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Revitalization Inc. is hosting “Christmas Around the Square” on Saturday December 5.

The purpose is to share the experience of holiday good cheer with a lit up downtown district to create something everyone will be able to experience all day long.

The annual L.I.F.E. Food Pantry Christmas Tree Fantasia will be at the Boys & Girls Club on the same day.

All of this goodwill and fun will leads up to the Festival of Lights Parade. Merchants are designing a day to support and supplement those traveling between these festivities during the day and to 'fill up' the hours between the end of those events and the kick-off of the Festival of Lights Parade which will begin at 6 p.m.

The official line-up for the downtown events will be released the day after Thanksgiving. We'll share a list of shops, attractions, sales, giveaways, cash prizes, games, locations entered into the Festival of Lights contest and parking information.

While you look ahead and plan your holiday season, consider setting aside a day to support these fun-filled community activities.

BRI is accepting entries for the 2015 Christmas parade. This year's theme is "It's a Wonderful Life."

The grand marshal will be Jack Kenworthy, former president and chief executive officer of Bedford Federal Savings Bank and an active volunteer in the community.

Organizers are looking for vendors to set up on J Street between 15th and 16th Streets at 3 p.m. on parade day.
Booth rental is $25 for those with no electricity and $50 for those with electricity. Nonprofit organizations are invited to set up a booth free of charge to pass out information about their organizations or sell fundraising items. Proof of liability insurance is required for all booths.

For more information about the parade or booths, visit www.bedfordinparades.com or contact the Bedford Chamber.
