Bedford Wireless Zone, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Collecting Toys For Tots

Last updated on Tuesday, November 17, 2015

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Wireless Zone is partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to participate in its Toys for Tots campaign.

Wireless Zone stores will have collection bins inside during the holiday season to collect and deliver new toys to less fortunate children in local communities. Toys may be donated at either of the two Wireless Zone locations in Bedford: 3313 W. 16th St. and 3084 John Williams Blvd.

"The Toys for Tots campaign does such amazing work each holiday season, and we're proud to partner with such an impactful organization so we can do even more to help those in need in the communities we serve," said Joe Johnson, president and COO of Wireless Zone. "We encourage all of our customers to bring a donation with them on their next visit."

In 2014, Toys for Tots distributed more than 17 million toys to more than 7 million children. The organization also collected more than $284 million in charitable donations, by far the most ever raised in a single year. Marine Toys for Tots is also listed as a top charity in the Philanthropy 400 and was once again accredited by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance in 2015.

Toys for Tots is aiming to break last year's donation record through expanded partnerships with community minded organizations like Wireless Zone, and this season the organization is also encouraging donors to think about the teens and young adults the program serves. Suggested donations include books, backpacks, cosmetics, purses, bath gift sets, board games and electronics.
