Bedford Man Sentenced To 9 Years In Prison For Dealing Meth

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was sentenced to 9 years in prison after he sold meth two times to a confidential informant.

Lawrence County Superior Court Judge II William Sleva sentenced 21-year-old Zachery Bruhy after he pleaded guilty to a Level 3 felony charge of dealing meth.

After serving time in jail Bruhy will spend three years on house arrest, followed by three years on supervised probation.

Judge Sleva also ordered Bruhy to participate in the therapeutic community while in prison and participate in any substance abuse program ordered by probation.

Bruhy received credit for 219 days already served, and he was ordered to pay restitution costs of $740 to the Lawrence County Drug Task Force.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Bruhy sold two grams of meth confidential informant on May 11. A day later, the informant again met with Bruhy, purchasing four baggies that contained 5.11 grams of meth. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was taken to jail in June.

Bruhy was arrested after selling meth to a confidential informant. The informant told police that Bruhy had 2 grams of meth to sell, and arrangements were made for the informant to meet Bruhy on May 11. The informant, after meeting with Bruhy, gave officers a bag that contained a white powder and later field-tested positive for meth.

The following day, the informant again met with Bruhy, purchasing four baggies that contained white powder. The substance field-tested positive as 5.11 grams of meth.
