(UNDATED) - Angela Lewis, Chief of Staff at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, and Bedford resident, will be a featured panelist at this year’s Indiana Conference for Women being held at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis on November 12.

The Indiana Conference for Women is the midwest's premier women's event, featuring internationally-acclaimed speakers, bestselling authors and business experts with strategies, advice and tools to ignite their career or business success.

Ms. Lewis, recently honored with the 2015 Torchbearer Awards which recognizes women of Indiana who have stepped forward as leaders by breaking down barriers, will bring her unique perspective to a breakout session entitled, "Innovating Your Skillset: How Women Lead the Way and Change the World."

Serving in this environment, Lewis has distinguished herself as a groundbreaking leader. "Women have the type of competencies that allow them to thrive in innovative environments," Lewis said. "Building a culture of innovation requires successful leaders who are collaborative and empathetic. It necessitates breaking down communication barriers, and forming pathways and connections. This is not only inherent in encouraging innovation, these are keys to developing our next generation of leaders."
