AmeriCorps Offering Positions In Brown, Greene, Martin, Morgan, Orange Counties

(UNDATED) - AmeriCorps will be offering part-time member positions in school districts to promote coordinated school health work in Brown, Greene, Martin, Morgan and Orange counties.

According to a press release, members will use the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) coordinated school health approach to assist districts with improving the school health environment for students and staff.

If awarded the position, the part-time employee will assist schools in the areas of health services, health and physical education, employee wellness, nutrition services, community involvement, safety, physical activity, and social and emotional health.

The positions are slated for a 900 hour commitment and must be filled by August 31.

According to a press release, the benefits include a living stipend and an educational award that can be used for previous education loans, or for future education endeavors.

Position Summary

Organize and support Coordinated School Health systems within the school corporation, collaborating with supervisors of multiple school health components, along with community partners, to improve and maintain the safety, health, and well-being of students and school employees, thereby, contributing to school success. In addition, the coordinator will facilitate the recruitment of volunteers to promote family and community engagement.

Medium Work: Exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and or 10-25 pounds of force frequently and or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
