Urgent Need For Live-Saving Blood Donations

Last updated on Tuesday, October 27, 2015

(UNDATED) - There’s an urgent need for live-saving blood donations.

The Indiana Blood Center said on Friday they had only 7 units of O-negative blood, but they need at least 52 units to have an adequate supply for area hospitals.

Across all blood types, they need to see 550 people every day to meet area hospitals' needs.

With 70 days left in 2015, they need 38,500 donations to get hospitals through the holidays when blood donations are the lowest. One donation can help as many as three patients.
