Two Arrested In Washington After Police Find 19 Meth Labs

(WASHINGTON) - A drug investigation into suspected meth use led officers to a home where 19 meth labs were seized.

According to an Indiana State Police report, officers went to a home at 2049 South State Road 57 at lot 39 in Washington at 9:49 p.m. after a report of possible meth activity.

When police arrived they found 50-year-old Daniel Purdue and 44-year-old Tina Purdue.

While talking to the couple officers noticed in plain sight a piece of tin foil with suspected drug reside on it.

Officers then obtained a search warrant for the home.

With warrant in hand, officers with the Indiana State Police, Washington Police, and Daviess County Sheriff's Department began searching the property and found 19 one-pot meth labs, 24 syringes, 54 foil "boats" or devices used to smoke and ingest meth, numerous other smoking devices, marijuana, Hydrocodone, and other drug paraphernalia.

Both Daniel and Tina Purdue were arrested and taken to the Daviess County Security Center without incident on charges of manufacturing and dealing meth, a Level 3 felony; possession of meth, a Level 5 felony; maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony, possession of marijuana, a Level 6 felony; possession of a schedule II controlled substance, a Level 6 felony and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

The Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Suppression Section assisted in the cleanup of the meth labs and lab trash.
