Students And Community Leaders To Protest Secretary Of State John Kerry's Speech Thursday

Last updated on Tuesday, October 13, 2015

(BLOOMINGTON) - A coalition of students and community leaders are planning to protest outside of Secretary of State John Kerry’s speech during his visit to Indiana University Thursday.

Kerry is scheduled to speak at the opening of IU's School of Global and International Studies. He will speak about U.S. Foreign policy priorities.

The protest, Organized by Young Americans for Freedom at IU, is co-sponsored by Grassroots Conservatives, Indiana Millennials for Cruz and Monroe County Republican Women. The protest will take place Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Showalter Fountain on Indiana University's Bloomington campus. Prominent Tea Party organizer Robert Hall, Republican State Senator Brent Waltz and former talk radio host Jim Pfaff are among the many prominent civic leaders scheduled to attend.

"Hoosiers have a moral obligation to stand up and fight back against the prospect of a nuclear Iran," IU YAF Vice Chairman Andrew Ireland says. "We believe in sending Secretary Kerry a message that we are deeply opposed to a bad deal."

Avid critics of the Obama administration's unconstitutional deal with the theocratic Iranian regime, Young Americans for Freedom at IU is leading the charge against the dangerous policy on campus.

"The Obama-Kerry foreign policy -- especially considering this deal -- is a great danger to the American people and our closest allies. We believe it's crucial to share this with our campus and community," Ireland said.

All are encouraged to attend.
