(BEDFORD) - A Bedford Parks Department softball tournament Saturday raise more than $1,300 for the Disabled Veterans Wish Foundation.
According to Bedford Parks Department Recreation Director Gary Dorsett, players for the eight participating teams came from Bedford, Bloomington, Brazil and other Indiana communities. Three local umpires volunteered their services for the day.
Dorsett is hoping Saturday's tournament will be the first of many to help the nonprofit foundation.
The Disabled Veterans Wish Foundation is a nonprofit organization that grant wishes for disabled or terminally ill veterans. For more information, visit www.disabledvetwish.org.
