Six Arrested On Meth Charges

(BEDFORD) - Six people were arrested after the Lawrence County Drug Task Force received several tips about possible meth activity at a home in the 1600 block of 16th Street.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley officer took that information to the Lawrence County Prosecutor's office and were issued a search warrant for the home located at 1609 16th Street.

Officers from the Drug Task Force along with the Bedford Police Department Swat Team served that warrant at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Officers searched the home, along with a police K-9 that alerted police to possible drugs in several areas of the home.

Police found meth, smoking devices that tested positive for both meth and marijuana, other drug paraphernalia and Hydrocodone.

Police arrested 56-year-old Timothy Brinegar and 54-year-old Michelle Jones, who both lived in the home on charges of, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

Also arrested at the home were 48 -year-old Michael Dougherty, of 1718 G St.; 50-year-old Dorven Bell, who told police he was homeless and 30-year-old Melissa Phillips and 34-year-old Mark Phillips, both of 625 25th St. on charges of possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, visiting a common nuisance.
