Paoli Woman Sentenced To Six Years In Prison

Last updated on Monday, October 19, 2015

(BEDFORD) - A Paoli woman was sentenced to 6 years in prison for conspiracy to commit dealing in a narcotic drug - heroin, a Level 3 felony.

28-year-old Lacy Sneed pleaded guilty to the crime in a negotiated plea agreement in exchange for the court dropping a charge of resisting arrest.

Lawrence County Superior Court I Judge Michael Robbins suspended three years of the 9-year sentence with those three to be served on supervised probation. If Sneed meets all terms of the supervised probation, Judge Robbins ordered that her third year of probation can be unsupervised. Sneed was also ordered to participate in the ADAPT program and to find a job upon her release. She was also given credited for 71 days already served in jail.

During her sentencing, Sneed apologized for her actions.

Sneed was arrested in July after she made a controlled drug deal with an undercover officer with Lawrence County Drug Task Force. Sneed told police she had both meth and heroin for sale. When Sneed arrived to make the drug deal, she recognized some of the officers and then attempted to flee.

Sneed posted a $5,005 cash bond but was then arrested in August for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance - heroin and for maintaining a common nuisance. Those charged were dismissed last week.
