No Students Injured When Bloomington School Bus Struck By Car

(BLOOMINGTON) - No students from Bloomington High School South were injured when a school bus was struck by a car Monday morning on Tapp Road, east of Ind. 37.

Police and ambulances were called to the scene of the crash at 7:05 a.m.

According to a Bloomington Police report, Edwin Kern of Bloomington was driving a 2012 Buick west on Tapp Road when he crossed the centerline and struck the eastbound bus, driven by Patricia Adams of Bloomington.

After the initial impact at the front fender of the bus, the Buick continued along the driver's side of the bus and caused the bus to slide.

Adams, who suffered pain to her neck, was transported to the hospital. Kern was not injured during the incident.

Three students and one bus monitor were checked by medics at the scene of the accident.

Another bus arrived and took the students to school.

A third car sustained a flat tired after driving over debris from the accident.
