Man Stabbed, Refuses To Cooperate With Police

Last updated on Tuesday, October 20, 2015

(BLOOMINGTON) - A man who was stabbed twice in the side Sunday afternoon is refusing to cooperate with police.

According to Bloomington Capt. Joe Qualters, a 38-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment of two puncture wounds at his left side.

The man told police he just needed duct tape to cover the wounds, but hospital personnel whisked the man into surgery. Police say the man is expected to recover.

Bloomington police found the man after they received several calls at 2:46 p.m. Sunday reporting a man who was bleeding was walking west from People's Park. Officers found the injured man near Kirkwood Avenue and Washington Street.

The man refused to tell police what happened or who stabbed him.

Qualters says the man is wanted on a warrant for a parole violation and will be taken to jail once his condition improves and he is released from the hospital.
