(SALEM) - Former Quality Membership Director Kristy Purlee has been chosen as the interim CEO of the Washington County Family YMCA.
She replaces Rob Gilchrist, who served as the CEO of the YMCA for the past 19 months. Gilchrist took a position near his hometown in New York.
Purlee says she is excited to step into a new leadership role within the organization.
Over the next several months Purlee will be developing her leadership skills to best serve the local YMCA.
In a email to staff, Purlee explained her passion for the organization.
"Last week I attended a Y leadership conference and I learned that passion and love for community and what the Y does are qualities that cannot be taught. I promise you I love the Y and hold it in high regard. "
Purlee wants to continue to grow the organization and ultimately a stronger Washington County.
