Last updated on Monday, October 5, 2015

(JOHNSON CO.) - A two month old child was hospitalized after receiving injuries while in the care of a Johnson County man. She will be taken off life support after her organs are donated, according to Facebook post by her family.

According to police, they arrested Jamison Cyrus Allan Hendley on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent and aggravated battery. Police say the child's mother Autumn Danielle Grissom came home to find her child was not "breathing right."

Grissom, who is from Mitchell, told Hendley that she was taking her daughter Braelyn to the hospital. Hendley told her he was not going to the hospital with her, according to a press release.

Once at Johnson Memorial Hospital, medical staff requested to transfer the child to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health by helicopter.

At Riley, medical staff said the infant was suffering from injuries that resulted from abuse, including bruises, seizures, significant brain injury, significant retinal bleeding and retinal detachment.

A post Sunday on Facebook read "Please Keep Autumn Danielle Grissom in your prayers today (Sunday) ..She has had to make the decision no mother should ever have to make ...Baby Girl is a being taken off life support , but not before 2 other babies will be saved , thru the Organ Donation Program ..your in our thoughts and prayers ..Baby Braelyn is a True Hero today and will live on in 2 other children."

Hendley was arrested following an interview with investigators.

Hendley is awaiting formal charges in the case.
