(BEDFORD) - GM Bedford Casting Operations will host 6th grade girls from Lawrence County schools today to participate in the plant’s annual Get WISE (women in science and engineering) program.
The STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) event educates students about various career opportunities related to science and engineering.
Students will arrive before 11:45 a.m. to allow for security clearance and safety protocol. Educational activities will be followed by a plant tour and question and answer session.
Leading the event and tour will be Doneen McDowell, Executive Director, Global/GMNA Manufacturing Engineering - Vehicle Systems; Elisha Huddleston, GM Bedford Tool Room Manager - Manufacturing Engineering and local elementary school teachers.
