Freetown Man Injured After Furnace Explodes

(FREETOWN) - A Freetown man was seriously injured Monday night when a furnace that he was trying to light in his home exploded.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was treated at the scene by Jackson County Emergency Medical Services before being flown by helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital.

The home is on West Columbus Pike near the Pershing Township Volunteer Fire Department.
