(WORTHINGTON) - Firefighters from the Worthington Fire Territory, assisted by the Fairplay Grant/Switz City Fire Department, were on the scene of a house fire on South Jefferson Street in Worthington late Wednesday night.
The Greene County Daily World reports, firefighters were dispatched around 11 p.m. Shortly after, a large blaze erupted from the rear portion of the home.
Before 11:30 p.m., fire personnel had the large blaze knocked down but smoke was still pouring out of the home.
Neighbors say they believed the home was a rental house and they believed it was unoccupied at this time.
However, that information could not be confirmed with officials on the scene.
