Dan Jones Named New Daviess County Commissioner

Last updated on Monday, October 19, 2015

(DAVIESS CO.) - Dan Jones is the new Daviess County Commissioner for District 1.

In a closed meeting Thursday, Daviess County Republican Precinct Committeemen picked Jones among five other candidates. He will be sworn into office today. His term runs through the end of next year, when the seat is up for election in the 2016 General Election.

Jones will fill the seat vacated by Tony Wichman, who resigned September 1 due to family and career reasons.

Jones, who holds a degree from Purdue University in Construction Technology and Management, is the President of ResCom Management Systems, a company he started with his family. It has grown from a small residential builder to an industrial contractor doing business with corn processing, chemical, and other facilities in the Midwest.

He is a trustee of Calvary Missionary Church, an avid outdoors man, and he also raises long-horn cattle.
