Cast Set For "Stories Behind The Stones"

(ORLEANS) - The cast is set for “Stories Behind the Stones” this weekend in Orleans.

The presentation will be both a history lesson and a short trip through time itself, featuring actors portraying characters from Orleans' first 200 years as part of the town's bicentennial celebration.

Guides will lead visitors through the three historic cemeteries, where they will encounter both distinguished and colorful figures, dressed in period costumes and telling their stories.

Chosen to portray some of Orleans' most memorable people are the following:

Cost for the event is $5 per person, with children under 12 admitted for $3.

Tours will leave every 15 minutes starting at 5 p.m. on each evening, with the last tour beginning at 6:30 p.m.. Starting point of the tour will be on the northeast corner of Greenhill Cemetery near Jefferson and Fifth Streets.

All proceeds will go toward the cost of the Orleans 200 celebration activities which have taken place throughout the year, and will continue through December.
