Last updated on Monday, October 19, 2015

(MITCHELL) - A Brownstown man was injured after a two-vehicle accident Thursday.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 62-year-old Jon Perkins suffered a fractured or dislocated shoulder.

The accident happened at 7:45 a.m. on Mill Creek Road about 50 feet west of Ball Road.

According to the accident report, 19-year-old Cheyenne McKnight, of Mitchell, was traveling west on Mill Creek Road in a 2000 Ford Mustang and had topped the hill when she saw Perkins' 2008 Chevrolet Impala, broadside in the middle of the road.

McKnight told police she attempted to stop but couldn't avoid hitting Perkins' car.

Perkins told police he thought he had turned into a driveway and the next thing he remembered was being hit by the other vehicle.

McKnight was not injured.
