Brown County Man Dies After Crashing Vehicle Into Tree

(SPEARSVILLE) - A Brown County man died Thursday after crashing his vehicle into a tree.

Brown County Coroner Earl Piper says 71-year-old Manson Howard Jr. died at the scene from blunt force trauma to the head. He believes Howard suffered a medical issue that may have led to the crash.

According to police the accident happened in the 8600 block of Gold Point Road.

According to the Brown County Democrat, Howard was an Army veteran and retired from Wilkerson Sawmill. He was one of the founders of Babe Ruth Baseball in Brown County, and coached, umpired and refereed softball, baseball and Bantam League football for several decades.
