Bloomington Man Arrested On Drug Charges

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested on several drug charges Wednesday.

Just after 10 p.m. the Indiana State Police Drug Task Force arrested 39-year-old Labrice Doty of Bloomington after working an ongoing criminal investigation in which Doty was the focus.

A search warrant, executed in the area of North Walnut Street, led police to recover more than 50 grams of crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, digital scales, packaging supplies and a stolen handgun.

Doty was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail on charges of dealing meth over 28 grams with a firearm, a Level 2 felony, dealing in meth between 1 and 5 grams with a firearm, a Level 3 felony; possession of methamphetamine over 28 grams with a firearm, a Level 3 felony and maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony.

Doty is also being held for out of county warrants as well.

The Indiana State Police has increased its investigative initiative to combat the growing drug problem in the area. Anyone with tips or information regarding the dealing of illegal substances is urged to contact the Indiana State Police at (812) 332-4411.
