(BLOOMINGTON) - Shawn Michael Seymour was sentenced to 24 years - six of which are suspended - on two counts of armed robbery and one count of resisting law enforcement.

Bloomington Police arrested Seymour after he and Paul Spence of Bloomington robbed the Circle K gas station in the 4400 block of East Third Street. They also committed armed robbery of the Marathon gas station at West Third Street and Curry Pike on the west side of Bloomington in October of last year.

According to police, Seymour armed with a weapon, robbed the gas stations while Spence drove the get-away car.

Police responded to the Circle K to find Seymour fleeing from the gas station.

Seymour was injured after he pointed a weapon at police. An officer fired one shot striking Seymour.

Officers arrested him later in the day after receiving a tip that Seymour was at an apartment in the 300 block of West Kenwood Avenue.

Seymour suffered a minor head wound and was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment. An emergency room physician confirmed that the wound was consistent with what would occur from a gunshot. He was treated, released and transported to jail.

Spence was arrested as the result of a traffic stop in a vehicle police believe was used in the robberies. Blood from Seymour's head wound was found inside the vehicle, along with money and other items connecting the men to the robberies. His case is still open with a pretrial conference scheduled for November 19.
