(BEDFORD) - A Bedford teen was injured after the vehicle she was riding in rolled Saturday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 17-year-old Tatlin Allen of Bedford complained of neck pain.

According to police, 18-year-old Christopher Welsh of Bedford was traveling north on Tunnelton Road near Pinhook Road in a 2008 Lincoln MKZ when he told police a deer ran into the path of his vehicle.

Welsh lost control of the car in a curve and ran off the west side of the road leaving 270 feet of skid marks. The vehicle rolled onto its top.

Police says Welsh was traveling at an unsafe speed. Welsh also admitted to smoking marijuana and taking prescription medication before the accident.

Police say Welsh did fail field sobriety test and a blood-draw was taken at a local hospital. Those results are pending.

A witness to the crash that happened at 6:24 p.m. told police Welsh was traveling at a high-rate of speed and veered into the path of her vehicle almost striking her vehicle. The witness told police she did not see a deer.

Welsh and three other passengers were not injured.

Welsh was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of marijuana under 30 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Lawrence County jail at 7:12 p.m. Saturday.
