(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after police found her with marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the Marathon Station on 16th Street at 12:49 a.m. after a report of two suspicious people in the parking lot.
When police arrived they found 38-year-old Dustin Austin rummaging through a trash can.
"She told police she was looking for a ring," Parsley added. "Officers also spoke to a male that was with her, but their stories didn't match on why they were there."
Police then received consent to search the vehicle. In Austin's belongings officers located a baggy of marijuana, rolling papers and a partially burnt marijuana cigarette, and hemostat, which are used to hold the marijuana cigarette while smoking it.
Austin was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The man was released.
