Fight At A Bloomington Apartment Complex Results In Six Arrests

(BLOOMINGTON) - An early morning brawl at Colonial Crest Apartments in Bloomington resulted in six arrests on Sunday.

An officer patrolling in the 400 block of West Northland Drive at 1:47 a.m. Sunday heard a woman screaming. The officer found the woman on the ground with a man standing over her.

According to Bloomington Police Capt. Joe Qualters, the man ran when he was the officer and into a fight involving 10 other men.

The officers followed the man into the fight, getting hit himself. The officer used his pepper spray on two of the main aggressors.

People continued to fight as they fled from officers responding to the scene. The screaming woman also fled from police.

According to police reports, one 19-year-old woman received a written citation on a preliminary charge of illegal consumption, and five people were booked into the jail, including:

Police also arrested 19-year-old Rex McHaley of Bloomington, who police say told police he sold marijuana at the party. Police found 55 grams of marijuana in the freezer and in a drawer of his residence.
