2015-2016 Changes For Checking In Deer And Turkey

Last updated on Friday, October 23, 2015

(UNDATED) - Starting at the beginning of the 2015 fall hunting seasons, there were changes made on how you check in your legally harvested deer and wild turkey.

To help clarify these changes, there are THREE ways to report your harvested deer and turkey through the CheckIN Game system:

As in years past, you are still required to have your deer or turkey checked in within 48 hours and follow regulations on temporary transport tags after harvesting game.

Hunters should refer to the 2015-2016 Indiana Hunting and Trapping Guide for more details about regulations. The Indiana Hunting and Trapping Guide can be found at most locations that sell hunting, trapping, and fishing licenses, but can also be downloaded online at dnr.IN.gov.

If you are the traditional type of person and you'd like to see a list of 'traditional' local check stations, they can be found online at hunting.IN.gov by clicking the 'Check Station' link. This page organizes the traditional check stations by searching the county you'd like to view.
