12 Local Artists Painting For "Art Of Giving" To Benefit 2015 LIFE Fantasia

(BEDFORD) - Twelve local artists are painting in the holiday season with the “Art of Giving” to the 2015 LIFE Fantasia.

The artists were given a blank 11-by-14 canvas to create their vision of a Christmas Tree. The completed artwork will be on display starting Monday at Twelve Months of Christmas on 15th Street on the north side of the Bedford Courthouse Square.

Artists working on canvases include Warren Jackson, Rose Brenner, Becky Buher, Melissa Carter, David Fields, Sammie Justesen, Dottie Sherwood, Marla Jones and Liz McKenzie, Rowena Cross-Najafi, Pat Hutton and Don Geyra.

The public can view the work and vote for their favorites with a $1 donation to benefit Lawrence InterFaith Endeavor, a nonprofit agency that assists low-income families with needed food and household supplies.

Pat Hutchinson, owner of Twelve Months of Christmas, says the artwork that receives the most votes will be announced Dec. 2. The artwork will then be placed in the in the LIFE Fantasia auction on Dec. 5 at the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County.

The Fayetteville Community Lions Club invites Christmas shoppers to attend an open house at the Twelve Months of Christmas on Nov. 5 from 6-8 p.m. A portion (10 percent) of all purchases will be given to the club. The club will use the proceeds for its youth baseball fields in Fayetteville. Club members will provide light refreshments.
