(NASHVILLE) - Indiana State Troopers assigned to The Bloomington District A.C.E.S. (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) conducted patrols in rural Brown County Friday night in conjunction with the Bike Fest happening in the area.

During the patrol, Trooper Riley Nungester conducted a traffic stop along State Road 135 near Old Settlers Road north of Nashville.

During the course of the traffic stop, the trooper suspected drug activity. Trooper Allen Deel and his K-9 partner Drogos alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle as they assisted with the stop. A subsequent search by troopers revealed a large quantity of meth, syringes used to inject narcotics and other drug paraphernalia.

Troopers arrested both the driver, 25-year-old Jenny Lazado of Morgantown and her passenger, 48-year-old Steven Sullivan of Decatur. Both were charged with possession of meth, possession of hypodermic syringes, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to and incarcerated at the Brown County Jail.

Indiana Conservation Officers assisted with this investigation.

The Indiana State Police remain focused on investigating drug offenses and conducting dedicated patrols in an effort to detect drug use and dealing.
