Two Arrested After Police Find Heroin, Pills, Syringes

(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested Monday after a police K-9 alerted officers to possible drugs

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the Holiday Inn Express after the manager suspected possible drug activity in one of their rooms.

When police arrived they walked a K-9 to the door of the room and the dog alerted police of possible drugs inside.

Police knocked on the door and inside police found 25-year-old Stephanie Brant and 22-year-old Dillon Shaw.

"During a search of the room officers found numerous drug paraphernalia items including empty and filled syringes," Parsley says. "The liquid tested positive for heroin. There was also baggies of heroin, marijuana and the woman had suboxone."

Police arrested both on charges of , possession of drug paraphernalia, dealing in a narcotic drug, possession of a schedule I, II, III substance, possession of a narcotic drug.

Brant was also charged with visiting a common nuisance and Shaw with maintaining a common nuisance.
