(SPENCER) - A Spencer man was killed after a head-on collision on U.S. 231 Tuesday night.
According to an Indiana State Police report, just before 5:30 p.m., 31-year-old Shawn Toon of Bloomfield was traveling southbound on US 231, just north of State Road 46.
At the same time, a 2011 Chevrolet truck driven by 46-year-old Scott Wilding of Spencer was traveling northbound from State Road 46.
For unknown reasons, Toon's 1999 Ford truck crossed the centerline and struck Wilding's vehicle.
Toon was flown by helicopter from the scene to a hospital in Indianapolis.
Wilding died at the scene as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash.
Police say the crash is still under investigation.
The Spencer Police Department, the Owen County Fire Department and the Owen County Coroner's Office assisted with the investigation.
