Second Annual Scenic Byway Motorcycle Ride Saturday

(BEDFORD) - Indiana’s newest national scenic byway will be showcased on the second annual road rally for motorcycles on Saturday.

The second Indiana's Historic Pathways Scenic Byway Ride will begin Saturday at the Hoosier National Forest office, 811 Constitution Ave., in Bedford.

The all-day tour will highlight a variety of natural features and historical sites along the 115-mile route through southern Indiana.

Stops will highlight a variety of natural features and historical sites with stops along the way to look at the Medora Covered Bridge; the lookout tower on Skyline Drive in Jackson-Washington State Forest east of Brownstown; the Jackson County Courthouse; Slab Road, which was the first concrete road in the state; and the newly restored depot in Ewing; the Orangeville Rise, Jud Rock in Shoals and more.

Lunch will be available at the Jackson County History Center in Brownstown. Proceeds will benefit the center, which will be open for tours.

The cost of the ride, sponsored by Hoosier National Forest, is $10 per bike and $5 for a passenger. Registration starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, with kickstands up at 10 a.m.
