Rebecca Eldridge Named Honey Queen For Indiana State Beekeepers Association

(ORLEANS) - Rebecca Eldridge of Orleans was crowned the 2015 Honey Queen for the Indiana State Beekeepers Association.

Elridge, a homeschooled high school graduate, attends Ivy Tech Community College where she is pursuing a degree in business. She also works as a team leader at a farm supply store and is active at her family's farm and beekeeping business, where she maintains 70 beehives. In 2010, Eldridge was named Indiana Young Beekeeper of the Year.

She will make her first public appearance today during the Kiwanis Club of Bloomington's weekly luncheon meeting.

She will present a talk titled "Indiana's Beekeeping Industry and the Challenges Facing Modern Apiculture" and discuss the state's honey and bee industry and touch on the mystery of disappearing bee colonies in the United States.
