Pipe Replacements Scheduled For U.S. 231 In Martin And Dubois Counties

(UNDATED) - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for U.S. 231 in Martin and Dubois Counties while crews perform pipe replacement projects.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, September 21, crews will close U.S. 231 from State Road 56 in Hayesville to U.S. 50 in Loogootee. Workers will replace four culvert pipes. The closure will last for approximately five days depending upon weather conditions.

During that time, U.S. 231 will be closed to through traffic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, however school traffic will have access to the point of closure in the morning and afternoon. The official detour uses S.R. 56 in Jasper to S.R. 61, to Interstate 69 To U.S. 50 in Washington.
