Mitchell Man Suffers Internal Injures After Crashing Motorcycle

Last updated on Tuesday, September 8, 2015

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was injured after he crashed his motorcycle on WPA Road Monday morning.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 57-year-old Gregory Brewer could not remember what happened.

Police say Brewer was eastbound on WPA Road on a 2002 Yamaha FZS 1000 and, according to a witness, was "getting on it" and then the witness saw "a blur" just before the crash.

Police say just before the 90 degree curve there were visible skid marks. The motorcycle struck a small junction box and then a tree, ejecting Brewer from the motorcycle into a wooded area.

Brewer, who was wearing a helmet during the incident, suffered head and internal injuries.

Assisting at the scene were Marion Volunteer Fire Department first responders, a Seals ambulance and Air Evac.
