Mitchell Man Hurt After Scooter Lays Down On Loose Gravel

(BONO) - A Mitchell man was injured after he lost control of his 2008 Yamaha scooter Sunday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, officers were called to Bono Road, in the 90 degree curve south of Sportsman Club Road just after 7 p.m.

Police say 49-year-old Stuart Burton was traveling northwest on Bono Road in the curve when he lost control of the scooter on the loose gravel causing the scooter to go down on its right side. Burton went down with the scooter hitting the right side of his head and scraping the lower part of his right leg.

His wife Lorrayn was traveling behind her husband and called 911.

Burton was taken by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.

Marion Volunteer Fire Department first responders assisted at the scene.
